  • Hi guys,

today we did a recap of what you could say about the 1st and the 2nd candidate.

Then we continued the lesson with a grammar point: how to talk about experience in English.

Here is the worksheet we completed:

Finally you had to complete the pair work (cf. second page of the document).
Here is an example of what you could say:

Have you ever studied at university?
Yes, I have already studied at university.

Have you ever travelled in the UK?
Yes, I have travelled in the UK once or twice.

Have you ever worked as a secretary?
Yes, I have worked as a secretary a few times.

Have you ever managed a group of employees?
No, I have never managed a group of employees.

  • Hey,

today we first made a recap of last time's lesson but you knew nearly nothing about it... how shameful...

Anyway... we moved on with the analysis of the 2nd candidate and here is what we finally said:

    He is not polite:

      * He missed his bus so he is late.
      * He laughs when he hears the salary.
      * He is rude and he has a coarse accent.

He hasn't had much work experience but he has already delivered newspapers.

Remember: Parler de son experience = Present Perfect avec:

    + ALREADY
                         - NEVER
                                           ? EVER

    Homework:

    - être capable de parler des deux candidats et de les comparer. Flashtest?

  • Hey,

today we continued studying Rob Fenton's interview and here is what we finally said:

Presentation: He is a teenager. He is in year 11. He wants a part-time job in a supermarket at week-ends. He doesn't live far away. So he can arrive on time.
He is hard-working, serious, and responsible.

Experience: He has never worked in a supermarket before but he has already worked in a library. He has already stacked shelves like in a supermarket.

Job description and motivation: He will have to work early mornings on Saturdays and Sundays. He will earn £5.50 (five pounds fifty) an hour = £66 a week = €320 a month.

    Homework:

    - être capable de parler de la situation lors de l'entretien d'embauche (présentation, expériences, description du travail, salaire).
