•   Hello,

Today, you worked in groups. You did a very good job!

In your opinion, what will happen to Garfield?

    1. I suppose Garfield will drop his coffee on the floor.

Actually, he says he hates Mondays and he hates people who love Mondays.

    2. I think Garfield will have a stiff neck.

Actually, he falls in the toilets.

    2. The top-hat is smaller than before.

    3. Before, the dead woman didn't have a tattoo whereas now, she has one.

    4. The shadow was carrying a knife in his left hand whereas now, he is carrying the knife in his right hand.

    5. Before, the dead woman had five toes whereas now one toe is missing.

  • Here is today's lesson:

    Friday, January 27th

Recap the 5 differences between the two extracts

In extract 1, the crowd is behind the marshalls whereas in extract number 2, they are behind the fences.

In the first extract, Ruby Bridges goes to school with her mum whereas in the second extract, she is alone.

In the first extract, she has a pink dress whereas in the second extract she is in white only (white dress, white ribbon, white socks and shoes). She looked scared and surprised at first, then she was more confident, courageous and determined.

In the first extract, there is nothing on the school columns whereas in the second extract, there are tags (« nigger »/KKK) and a smashed tomato.

For monday 30/01 : Revoir les différences entre les 2 extraits.

  • We can see Ruby Bridges in the center / in the middle
She is wearing only white clothes.
Four marshals are on the left and on the right
They are walking / protecting / escorting Ruby to school.
In the background, on the wall, there are the words "nigger" and "KKK", and a splashed tomato.

    Vocab
    a yellow armband
    a badge
    a ruler / a rule
