• Hi guys,

    today we started a new sequence about tourism. We first created a definition in English for the word: "tourist".

    Here is what you said:

    A tourist is a person who comes from another country or city / a foreign country. They must visit the city but the mustn't work.
    They need to go sight-seeing.

    They can do outdoors or indoors activities and they sleep at a hotel for example.

    Vocab:
    a museum
    a monument

    a cruise
    (to) go to the beach

    a camping-site

  • Hi guys,

    today we continued to study the song "Add me" and here is what we finally wrote about it:

    * The song is about a man, his personality:

           He is :  - creepy = bizarre and scary.
                        - mentally handicapped
                        - hateful
                        - lonely
                        - schizophrenic
                        - angry
                        - dangerous

                                      I wouldn't add him as a friend.

  • Hello everyone,

    Today, we listened to a phone call. We heard a man who was panic stricken / afraid / shocked / frightened / scared / terrified and who called 911.

    911 is a phone number for emergency situations used in North America (Canada and the USA).

    Then, we listed the key words.

    After that, we found the questions asked by the 911 dispatcher.

    Finally, we answered the questions (name, address, problem, number of people)

    Homework : revise all the vocabulary concerning crime (revoir tout le vocabulaire concernant le crime, depuis le début de la séquence)

  • Hello everyone,

    During the last three lessons, we discovered a lot of new information about crime.

    First we started with this document :

    New chapter : crimes and detective stories

                                                    Monday, February 17th
                                                        (the seventeenth)

                    The New Yorker cover : part 2

    In the background, on the left, we can see the corpse of a man.
    We can't see what the woman is holding, so :
    according to us / we think / we suppose / we assume that she is holding :
                                                   - a weapon, like a gun, a rope, a knife...
                                                   - an object/an item : a telephone...
    Actually, she is holding a gun so she might have killed/shot him.
    We can also think that she wanted to protect herself from a burglar/ a thief hitting her husband.

    Exercise : Translate in English :

    1) Elle a peut-être abattu l'homme.
         She might have killed/shot the man.
    2) Elle a peut-être entendu un bruit.
         She might have heard a sound/a noise.
    3) Il a peut-être cambriolé sa maison.
    He might have robbed her house.

    Tuesday's lesson : we discovered new vocabulary, particularly adjectives concerning : weapons, characters and atmosphere.

    Then we talked about the composition of adjectives : (à compléter pour réviser)

                         La formation des adjectifs :

    - Adjectifs à partir de ..............., + terminaison ......... :
           ex : to content (VB) => ...................(ADJ)
                  to scare (VB) => ......................(ADJ)

    - Adjectifs à partir de ..................., + suffixes :
           ex : Cheer (N) =>  cheer + ..........      = cheer........ (ADJ)
                  Gloom (N) => gloom +......         =  gloom.... (ADJ)
                  Light (N) => light +...........  = lightl......... (ADJ)

    Homework : learn the composition of adjectives (Thursday 20th)
