• Hello everyone,

    This week, we started a new lesson about CAN and CAN'T = capacity and talents.

    Today, we did some grammar :

    CAN and CAN'T

    1)    En anglais, on utilise le modal “can” pour parler :  

    ð        De ce que quelqu’un peut ou sait faire

    2)    Le modal « can » se place toujours :

    ð        Avant le verbe

    3)   Le modal « can » est suivi :  

    ð        De la base verbale (verbe non conjugué)

    4)    Ecris la forme négative de « can » : can't: c’est can + not (cannot).

    5)    Le modal « can » dans les questions : où se place-t-il ?

    ð        Au début de la question

         => En effet, c’est un auxiliaire qui permet de lancer la question.

    6)    les réponses courtes : exemple : No, I can’t : Pour construire une réponse courte, on dit d’abord « yes» ou « no», puis on écrit le sujet, puis on place can ou can't. 

     

    Then, we listened to a funny song : Can an elephant jump ?

    -> Can an elephant play football ? No, it can't.

    -> Can a koala sleep ? Yes, it can.

     

    HOMEWORK FOR MONDAY :

    -> read the grammar

    -> learn the lesson (song)

    Group 1 worked on the correction of the test.

    Group 2 worked on scrapbook : create a character with parts of magazines.

     

    Homework : revise the correction of the test. Pour les parents : signer le contrôle.

    Today, we did many activities about Christmas.

    First, we did a wordsearch and we discovered new vocabulary.

    Then, we read instructions to draw decorations on a Christmas tree.

    We revised : have got, be, she and he, physical description, questions and answers.

    Wednesday 18th : English test : tout réviser depuis la description physique.

    We did some grammar and we explained how to use "have got" and "be" :

    Finally, we did an interaction : Guess who it is (in the class) :

    Example :

    She has got long black hair and brown eyes. She is tall and slim.

    => She is Kate !
