The story of the Once-Ler in paradise

    (a long time ago!)

When the Once-Ler arrived in paradise, he saw*

the grass was* green and the pond was* wet. The

    fish sang*.

He saw* the first big tree. Under the trees, there

were* many brown bears. They played and ate*

fruit. The fruit looked like grapes and smelled like

butterfly milk. The real trees were* colorful and

    softer than silk.

Finally, the Once-Ler stopped and unloaded his

    cart. It was* A-MAZ-ING!

It was* a new beautiful and amazing place because there was* a river and a small lake in the middle.

There were* many trees of different colours.

Maybe, there were* the houses of the family and friends of the Lorax.

The differences between the two worlds

(in the book and in the movie)

    Similarities:

Like in the book, in the movie the world of the Once-Ler is scary, terrifying and apocalyptic.

The grass never grows. The wind blows and the crows sing.

    Differences:

Unlike in the book, you can see the hair and the mustache of the Once-Ler.

In the book, he knocks at the door whereas in the movie, he rings the bell.

There are many traps in the movie while there aren't in the book.

    The story of the Once-Ler

The document is a children's book extract.

    The Once-Ler is mysterious because:

    - we can't see his face but you can see his eyes.

    - we can just see his green gloves.

For the story, you must pay 15 cents, a nail, and the shell of a great-great-great-grand-father snail.

You must put the price in a tin pail.

And maybe the Once-Ler will tell you everything.

He will pull up the rope and he will make a careful count to see if you have the proper amount.

    ----------------------------

Mysterious → - you can go at midnight

    - he peeks out of the shutters

  • Correction of exercise 6:

The grandmother is extremely small whereas the mother is tall.

The granny has big white hair while the mother has big black hair.

Contrary to the mother, the granny has small glasses.

The grand-mother doesn't have teeth while the mother does.

Contrary to the mother, the grand-mother has a big round face.

The mother is thin whereas the grand-mother is fat.

Unlike the mother, the granny is very funny.
