• Again, again... when are you gonna learn your lesson and SPEAK in class...? STOP being slugs! COME ON!

It's a real shame to be forced to teach you...

Anyways, thank you to the students who ACTUALLY learn their lessons and do the work.

  • Hi guys,

today we worked on a text about child work in the 19th century in England.

    Child Labour in Victorian Times

Here is what you said about it:

    * Until 1842, children had to work. They could work in coal mines.

    * Until 1880, school wasn't compulsory. After 1880, children had to study until they were 10. School was compulsory. They had to go to school between 5 and 10.

    * Children worked in mines, mills, factories, on open markets, in the country, in the fields, ...They had to scare crows and they had to pick fruit and vegetables.

    --------------------------------------

    * Today in France, school is compulsory until 16. It's the law.

-> OBLIGATION IN THE PAST = HAD TO + V

Then we started to study a final document:

    Child Labour in Victorian Times
