Today, you gave me your opinion about Vivian Maier’s self-portrait.

Then, we started a new activity about a very famous painter: Norman Rockwell.

My opinion about Vivian Maier's self-portrait:

For me, it's an original picture because it's black and white and I like the technique of the reflection of the photographer in the mirror.

According to me / in my opinion / to my mind, it's an artistic picture because it's like an old selfie, but I would prefer a coloured picture.

Homework for Thursday 18^th:

• Connaître tout le vocabulaire des éléments du tableau de Norman Rockwell.

• Lire le texte et souligner les passages permettant de positionner les différents éléments sur le fond du tableau.

Today, we did a recap about Vivian Maier’s self-portrait:

Winter self-portrait in New York City

The document is an old black and white self-portrait.

It was taken in February 1955, in New York City by Vivian Maier.

The scene takes place in the city because there are buildings.

It takes place in winter because the trees don't have any leaves.

In the middle, there is a man. We can't see his face, we can only see his back. He is wearing a jacket, a cap and gloves.

He is carrying a mirror. Maybe he's moving out.

In the mirror, there is the reflection of the photographer. It's a woman, she's wearing a hat and a coat. She has a camera around her neck. Actually, she's behind the man.

In the foreground, on the left, there are blankets in a truck.

In the background, there is a woman climbing the stairs.

Document 3: Another opinion about selfies

The document is an audio file about selfies.

The man likes sharing selfies with his family and friends because they live in different cities and it's a good way to keep in touch.

He is not a selfie addict, he doesn't like posting his face on the web.

He likes taking “selfies” of his cats because they are so cute!

He remembers an incredible selfie with a lot of stars in the Oscar Ceremony in 2014. It was re-tweeted one million times!

Maybe this incredible selfie will be in a museum one day, so it's the future of art!            

Homework for Thursday, May 4^th:

-          Connaître tout le vocabulaire en vert depuis le début de la leçon sur les selfies > interrogation.

-          Envoyer son selfie grâce au lien envoyé par mail sur Pronote le plus vite possible !
