BILLY ELLIOT: The trailer

 

 

 

This document is a movie trailer.

 

We think the film is about stereotypes: people think some sports are just for boys whereas other sports are just for girls.

 

 

 

Billy Elliot wants to do ballet but his father doesn’t agree.

 

His mother is dead and he lives with his grandmother, his dad and his big brother.

 

 

 

At the beginning, he’s not very good but the teacher encourages him because he has a gift.

Lesson one : A ballerina or a boxer ?

 

 

 

On picture one we can see a boy and a girl.

 

 

The boy has a helmet and gloves. He looks nervous and

 

scared.

 

 

The girl has glasses and blond hair. She is looking at the

 

boy, she is suprised. Maybe she wants to calm him.

 

 

They are in a gym to practise a sport : dancing or

 

boxing ?

 

 

 

On picture two we can see a foot with a ballerina shoe on

 

a boxing ring. The colours and the stripes are similar to

 

the American flag. There is a contrast because ballet is

 

very different from boxing.

 

 

 

I suppose/think/guess the movie will be about stereotypes

 

because the boy doesn’t like boxing, he wants to do

 

ballet.
