  • Hello everyone,

Today, we started with suppositions about Oliver's punishment.

Then, we discovered what would actually happen.

    Here is the lesson :

    Thursday, December 18th

    (the eighteenth)

The bad challenge led to Oliver’s punishment.

    ( = lead)

We supposed that Oliver would run away.

Actually, the director takes a stricter/harder decision.

He decided that Oliver will be hanged.

Finally, we used a document to describe situations in Oliver Twist's sequel :

    Example n°2 :

The boy was stealing the handkerchief when the shopkeeper called the police.

                  -> prétérit be + V-ing                                       -> prétérit simple -ED

HOMEWORK : finish the document + revise the lesson

  • Hello everyone,

Today, we prepared Christmas by watching a funny video.

Then, we studied this video and we wrote a lesson about it :

    Our last lesson before Christmas

    Thursday, December 18th

    (the eighteenth)

VIDEO : an advert about Christmas

The dwarf is the first to climb down the rope.

It’s Father Christmas who is roasting the turkey.

    The dwarf is right-handed.

A fairy has changed the date and time on the clock and a tin soldier has switched on the music.

They all want to celebrate Christmas early.

I gave you three documents. They are useful to study Christmas vocabulary and traditions.

    HOMEWORK for next year !

    Tuesday, January 6th :

    Finish the documents

  • Hello everyone,

    Here it is :

    (the eighteenth)

Jingle bell rock (a Christmas song)

I can hear a bell ringing.

    I can see a one-horse sleigh gliding.

I can see people dancing in jingle bell square.

I can hear people singing Christmas carols/songs.

    Dancing : participe présent.

I can + verbe de perception (voir, entendre, sentir…) est différent de :

I can + capacité ou talent (ex : I can dance)

    I can smell Christmas pudding.

    b)   J’entends les enfants chanter et rire. I can hear children singing and laughing.
