Oliver is wearing poor clothes whereas the adults are wearing expensive clothes.

Oliver and the other children are sitting whereas the man is standing and he looks superior.

The children have less food than the adults.

The children are eating a disgusting gruel and they look hungry whereas the men are having a feast.
