    Presentation of a chic restaurant

The document is a picture of a chic, fancy and elegant restaurant.

There are three characters: two customers and one waiter.

The customers’d like to eat and to speak with the waiter.

The waiter’s shirt and apron are white and he has a black tie.

He has something under his arm, salt or pepper.

He looks cheerful because he’s smiling.

It is a fancy restaurant because there are plates, forks, knives, spoons and glasses. It’s not a fast food restaurant.

In the background, the table is square whereas in the foreground, the table is round.

The end of the scene at the restaurant

At the end, the customer gets a gun and everybody is scared.

They are traumatized, terrified, frozen and petrified.

The customer is ironic. He makes jokes.

Finally he changes his menu but he doesn’t like his burger. There

is a big difference between the picture and in reality.

In the picture the burger looks fantastic (plump, juicy, and thick)

whereas in reality, it’s sorry, miserable and squashed.

    What will happen next?

I think the customer will become furious and he will get a gun. He will menace the manager and the waitress.

I believe he will kill the manager and the customers, but he will not have breakfast or lunch.

I guess the customer will punch the manager. He will take his money and he will leave, but the police will arrest him.

The menu of the American restaurant

The document is an American menu because…

I can see the logo and the name of the restaurant.

    1. The name is “Route 66 Diner”. It’s a famous long road in the USA from Chicago to Los Angeles.

    2. At this restaurant, there are many American specialties. For example, you can eat hot dogs, burgers, a big savoury breakfast, …

    3. In this restaurant, you can pay in dollars. You can pay once for a beverage and you can drink again and again. It’s free refill.

    It’s not expensive. It’s cheap.

    4. In the menu, the vocabulary and spelling are different.

Ex: French fries / chips Ex: favorite / favourite

    Ex: donut / doughnut

    Vocabulary:

    hash browns
