Hi guys,

today you finished working on vocabulary from the text.

Here is the text again and the correction:

Here are some notes we took (not in the copybook yet):

Whitechapel was a criminal neighbourhood. There was a lot of crime.
The conditions of living were very difficult = harsh.
The houses, the apartments were very dirty = squalid.
Many people died of diseases (cholera, ...) and starvation.
Women were forced to become prostitutes in brothels.
