Today, we talked about Whitechapel district and we did a recap about everything you know!
The crime scene: Whitechapel
Whitechapel was a destitute and crime-ridden neighbourhood. It was located in the East End of London. On the contrary, the West End was flourishing.
There was poor sanitation and inadequate drainage. It was a very grim district.
People lived in squalid tenements and there were 7 or 8 occupants per room.
Many women were forced to become prostitutes, because they had meager earnings.
