Todya's we corrected your worksheet about the jim crow laws.

Here is what you said after your research:

*

-In Georgia, Black people and white people couldn't mix in mental hospitals.

-In Mississippi, it was illegal/forbidden to mix Black people with White people in prisons/jails.

-In Alabama, White nurses were not allowed to help/heal (=soigner) Black people.

-Black people and white people couldn't marry each other → intermarriage was forbidden in the south.

-In Louisiana, the 2 communities couldn't go the same libraries or share books.

-In North Carolina, the law obliged to separate Black people and White people in all public transports (taxis, Buses, trains, undergrounds, trams…)

-In Georgia, Black people and White people couln't go to the same barber or hairdresser.

  • It was forbidden=it was illegal=it wasn't allowed

C'etait interdit→ c'était illégal → ce n'était pas autorisé.

  • It was possible=it was allowed=they could

    C'était possible→ c'était autorisé → ils pouvaient…

  • The law obliged = they had to

La loi obligeait → ils devaient...

-------Revoir la correction de la recherche pour Vendredi 27/01
