The leather jacket
This document is an episode of the series “Everybody Hates Chris”. It happened in Brooklyn in 1983. This episode is about a new leather jacket.
The main character is a little boy (Chris). He is 13 years old but he looks five years old because he doesn't have style.
He is short and skinny and he has the ugliest jacket in the neighbourhood.
He is a dreamer: he wants to be cool / stylish / fashionable. He wants to be loved by others. He wants to have friends and be popular.
So he wants to buy a new leather jacket but his family is poor. He doesn't have money.
I think he's jealous because Trisha has a new jacket. He thinks she betrayed him.
He believes if he has his dream jacket, his girl friend will love him.
