Afro American people couldn’t play checkers in the same parks.
They had to sit at the back of buses.
They had to use different bathrooms in gas stations.
They had to study in separate schools.
They couldn’t swim in the same swimming-pools and they had to sunbathe at different beaches.
They had to pray in different churches.
They couldn’t live in the same neighbourhoods.
They couldn’t eat in the same restaurants or they had to sit at different tables.
→ It is shocking because on the placard, they compared people to animals.
