The conditions of living in Whitechapel
In Whitechapel, there was* poor drainage and sanitation so the neighbourhood was* dirty and you could* get many diseases.
The conditions of hygiene were* harsh.
Working in brothels for prostitutes was* safer than working in the streets. Yet, it was* not safe.
→ The East End was* grim, dark and desolate whereas the West End was* flourishing. Whitechapel was* abandoned by the authorities.
