The British Isles

The English Channel separates England and France.

There is a tunnel which leads to France.

The capital of England (and of the United Kingdom)is London, the city is located in the south of the country.

The symbol of England is a pink rose. The english flag is white with a red cross (St George's cross). The Head of state is Queen Elizabeth II (the second ) but the Prime minister rules(=decides for) the country (it's David Cameron).

Wales is located in the south west of the island. The capital is Cardiff and the symbol is a leek. The flag is white and green with a big red dragon in the middle. The welsh flag is the only one which is not represented on the Union Jack.
