1- The legends:
The Aborigines believe in legends.
Sacred animals created the land(scape).
For example, the kangaroos created the mountains when they jumped on the earth.
2- The life of the Aborigines:
The Aborigines live in the desert / in the Outback (in the North, in the West, and in the center of Australia).
It's very hot during the day (100°F) and freezing during the night.
There is no food, no water, and no communication.
-> Life is severe / harsh / unforgiving because the desert is uninhabitable and desolate.
