Present be + -ing

Hello everyone,

This week, we worked on a new lesson and we studied a new tense : present be + ing.

La structure à retenir est : be conjugué au présent simple + verbe avec la terminaison -ing.

Examples : I am listening to music. Are you dancing ? No, we aren't. We are practising for a football match.

On utilise ce temps lorsqu'on donne plus qu'une simple information, on peut par exemple chercher à justifier quelque chose ou donner une excuse.

P2 : Sorry Kate, I can't. I'm making a cake / I'm preparing my final task / I'm doing my homework.
P1 : Never mind... / OK, then... / Too bad !
