Preparation and revisions

Hello everyone,

During the last lessons, we prepared the English test and we also prepared the final task.

Here are some indications to help you with your revisions:

- FINAL TASK

Present a person who belongs to the past

1) Written preparation

Create a poster including : a photo, name and dates, job, family, how he died, where he was born, where he lived, where he died, the most important moments in his/her life (success, reason for fame...).

2) Oral presentation : an interview

This is a pair-work. Interview your partner: ask questions about his celebrity’s life.

Then, you will be interviewed by your partner too so answer his/her questions.

ENGLISH TEST: REVISIONS

- les verbes au prétérit (réguliers ou irréguliers)

- biographies : savoir poser des questions, y répondre au sujet de la vie de quelqu'un. Connaître: How long ago did he die? He died 3 years ago.

- Oliver Twist : revoir son histoire, les idées, le vocabulaire...

- Les deux prétérits (simple et be+ V-ing)

- L'obligation: had to + BV

- Savoir présenter et décrire un document.

Dates : contrôle le mardi 27 janvier, tâche finale le mercredi 28 janvier.

Exercise 1: translate in English:

a) Quand s’est-il marié? When did he get married?

- Il s’est marié en mille neuf cent vingt neuf. He got married in nineteen twenty-nine.

b) Où est-il né et où est-il mort ? Where was he born and where did he die ?

- Il est né aux Etats-Unis et il est mort en Angleterre.

He was born in the U.S.A. and he died in England.

c) Quel était son métier ? What was his job?

- Il était président des Etats-Unis et sénateur.

- He was the president of the U.S.A and senator.

Exercise 2 : Complete the questions with ‘was’, ‘were’ or ‘did’

a) When was he born?

b) Where did he die?

c) How long ago did he get married?

d) Where was he when he was elected president?
