Oliver Twist DVD cover + 1st extract

Hi guys,

today we first made a quick recap of last time's lesson. Here is what you said:

Oliver Twist is an orphan. He doesn't have parents, no father and no mother.
He was abandoned when he was little.
In the picture, he is running in the streets of London because the manager of a shop is chasing him.
Maybe he robbed money or food from the shop or from a customer because he was desperate.
It's the start of his adventures.

Then we began to study an extract from the movie Oliver Twist by Roman Polanski. We analysed the symbols in the first still from the movie.

Here is what we said:

The atmostphere is dark. Oliver Twist is scared because the adults are mean. 
The orphanage looks like Hell. The gate sounds like a prison or a haunted castle. 

It's a horrible workhouse.
