Hello,
Aujourd’hui, nous avons terminé la présentation du quartier de Whitechapel et vous avez expliquez pourquoi ce quartier a rendu le travail de la police plus difficile.
Historical and social context of the murders
In 1888, Queen Victoria sat* on the throne for 50 years.
London was* the largest and the most powerful capital city in the world.
But in the district of Whitechapel, life was* a daily battle for survival.
76000 residents lived in abject poverty in this crime-ridden quarter (= district).
There were* a lot of diseases and starvation; the district had* the highest death rates of the capital.
1.The victims had* no family so nobody called the police.
2. The victims were* female prostitutes so nobody cared.
3. The victims were* drunk so they couldn't defend themselves.
4. The streets were* very dirty so there were* no clues or evidence.
