HABITS

Hello everyone,

The holidays have just started. It's time to relax and rest, but you have to work a little too !

Indeed, we have just finished working on HABITS.

So, you're going to have a test when you come back to school.

So, here is what we learnt :

We discovered new vocabulary about habits (les bonnes ou mauvaises habitudes) :

• Do the homework before playing
• Talk with your mouth full
• Brush your teeth after meals
• Play too long with your video games
• Clear the table after meals
• Make your bed after getting up
• Go to bed before ten
• Wash your hands before meals
• Set the table before meals

After that, we discovered the simple present (le présent simple) :

Il faut ajouter -s ou -es à la fin du verbe lorsqu'il est conjugué à la 3ème personne du singulier (avec he, she ou it) :

My mother clears the table. She washes her hands before meals.

Next, we learnt frequency adverbs :

Never > Sometimes > Often > Always

We also discovered the pronunciation of -s/or -es endings : /s/, /z/ or /iz/

examples : sets /s/  gives /z/  washes /iz/

Finally, we learnt the pronouns :

Subjects : I / You / He / She / It / We / You / They

Possessive : My / You / His / Her / Its / Our / Your / Their

Complement : Me / You / Him / Her / It / Us / You / Them

We also studied a conversation between a vet and a person worried (inquièt) about her dog.

We notices the hesitations : Er... / Well / I see... and surprise : Oh dear !

Homework :

- Revisions for the English test for Wednesday 14th

Revoir tout ce qui a été écrit ci-dessus, à savoir :

- les conjugaisons au présent simple

- le vocabulaire des bonnes/mauvaises habitudes

- les adverbes de fréquence

- la prononciation de la terminaison -s ou -es.

- les pronoms sujets/possessifs/compléments.
