Hi guys,
today we spoke about Guy Fawkes again and we finished the lesson. Here is what we said for the recap:
The British celebrate Bonfire Night on November 5th every year.
It's to celebrate the death of Guy Fawkes, a conspirator / an assassin who tried to kill the king in 1605.
He wanted to blow up the Houses of Parliament but his plot failed. The Parliament didn't explode. Guy Fawkes was arrested and he was burned in the fire.
Today, the British eat jacket potatoes around a bonfire and they watch a big firework display.
