What happened last summer ?

IN JULY….

On July 12th 2017, a famous Pakistani woman called Malala turned 20 (=celebrated her 20th birthday). When she was young, Talibans shot her in the head. Doctors transfered/took her to a hospital in England.

She survived and won/received the Nobel peace prize in 2014.

On July 14th, it was France's National day (=Bastille day). French president Macron invited Donald Trump to watch the celebrations/parades in Paris. A lot of people protested/demonstrated in the streets because they think Trump is racist and sexist and he refused to sign the Paris Climate Agreement (about protecting the environment).
