Friday, April 29th

Hello,

Today, you worked on obligation and interdiction in the past.

Obligations and interdictions in the 19th century

Before school was not compulsory whereas now, in France, it’s compulsory until 16.

Before parents decided if they wanted to pay for the school fees, whereas now, school is free in France.

Before children had to wear a uniform whereas now we can wear everyday clothes at school in France.

Before education was stricter than today.

Before boys and girls were separated whereas now, they are together in the same classroom.

Before children couldn’t write with their left hand whereas now it’s ok!

OBLIGATION IN THE PAST: HAD TO + BV

INTERDICATION IN THE PAST: COULDN’T + BV

Homework for Tuesday, May 3rd: TEST sur TOUTE de la leçon “Oliver Twist and Child labour”

Revoir : les 2 prétérits, l’expression du contraste, le vocabulaire et l’obligation et l’interdiction au passé, description d’une image.
