Flash test + Jacob's village (a pogrom)

Hi guys,

today you first took a flash test about the two previous lessons and then we continued the class with a video: an extract from a movie where you could see a pogrom = the attack of a Jewish village in Russia.

Here is what we said:

The scene takes place in Russia in 1907 (nineteen o seven) in a Jewish village.
There is a war between the villagers and the soldiers.
The rabbi was killed / massacred / slaughtered / shot dead.
Jacob was shot but he escaped. He scared a horse with a torch. The horse fell and he went away.

Grammar:
The horse was scared / Jacob scared the horse.
The rabbi was killed / A soldier killed the rabbi.

-> Quand il y a l'auxiliaire BE dans ces phrases, ce n'est pas le sujet qui fait l'action. Il la subit.
