Commenting on the text + how the preterite works

Hi guys,

today we finished commenting on the text. Here is what we said:

1- The beautiful life in the forest:
The pond was still wet and the grass was still green. The bar-ba-loots frisked about and played in the shade. They ate fruits. The trees were softer than silk. Everything was perfect... until...

2- ...the Once-Ler arrived = the destruction:
The Once-Ler unloaded his cart. He chopped down a tree and cut the forest. He created his amazing invention.

3- Who was this little man?
The Lorax was an angry orange creature with a big moustache. He shouted at the Once-Ler because he was furious.

Then we started to analyse how the preterite worked to conjugate verbs in the past in English.
