Hello everyone,
Yesterday, we corrected your homework.
You had to present and describe the three documents from the triptych about Oliver Twist.
Here are some possibilities :
Correction of the homework
Document 1
This document is a movie still from the film “Oliver Twist” produced by Roman Polanski in 2005.
On the picture, we can see orphans eating at a table, the master who looks/seems furious, the cooks who look shocked and surprised and we can see Oliver’s back only.
So, the focus is on the master’s, the cooks’ and the children’s reaction.
Document 2
This document is a painting made by Harold Copping and painted in 1924.
It is entitled “Oliver asks for more”. Indeed, in this scene, Oliver is asking for
/in’tait ld/
more food and everybody looks shocked.
This time, the focus is on the master, the cooks as well as on Oliver.
Oliver seems to be panicked/scared/very nervous.
Document 3
This document is a text taken from the book entitled Oliver Twist, chapter two.
It was written by Charles Dickens in 1839.
In this extract, Oliver is accomplishing a challenge: he is asking for more food.
He keeps asking for more, and it makes the master become furious.
The master tries to hit Oliver. (ne pas confondre : eat, heat, hit, it)
Then, we worked on new documents about Child Labour.
You had to complete a grid with the names, countries, occupations and obligations of these children or teenagers.
HOMEWORK : learn the correction of one document and complete the grid.
