Asking for an allowance: the dad's decision
What is an allowance?
An allowance is pocket money. You have money every week. It's a sort of salary but you don't work.
The dad accepts when the family asks for money but he doesn't accept for Chris; it's expensive.
The family is shocked because it's expensive (they're poor) and Chris wants money but he doesn't want to work.
- The sister asks for $15 to visit the statue of Liberty.
- The brother asks for $5 to go to the cinema
- The mother asks for $25 to shop.
