The melody is bright, joyful, hopeful and positive but the lyrics are depressing.
I would add the singer as a friend because he inspires pity.
I wouldn't add him because the situation is very strange.
The mother is maybe mean and strict.
She says: “I wish I never had you...” because…:
- you look like your father. You're ugly and you are an alcoholic.
- you are a brat!
