A dream in a nightmare
In this extract, Chris gives coffee to his dad at 2:00 am because they must wake up early.
At the job, Chris's father is different from home. He is funny, crazy and impolite. When he drives, he is dangerous and violent whereas at home, he is a role model.
Chris is shocked but he is ecstatic. He thinks it's the coolest thing in the world. He feels like in a secret club.
The conditions of work are difficult. He is tired and cold. It's very long and he doesn't have a break. He must deliver papers in many neighbourhoods of NYC (Little Italy, Queens, …).
His dream turned into a nightmare but at the end of the day, he is probably happy and extremely tired.
