9 Marilyn - the final interpretation

Hi guys,

today after making a recap of what we had said last time, we continued the analysis of the painting and we said that it did not really represent Marilyn Monroe...

The painting is a symbol for her fame and her sexiness, it is an object. Marilyn is objectified. She is only considered for her job and her symbol, not for her real person. She belongs to everybody; she is not herself anymore.

Homework:

- pour le Mardi 22/04 = préparer une présentation / description / analyse d'une oeuvre similaire (vous pouvez choisir une autre oeuvre de Warhol ou bien une oeuvre d'un autre artiste "Pop Art" de votre choix).
