• -The Lotus temple is a recent monument, it was made so that all religions could gather (=se rassembler → together= ensemble). It is open to all religions for meditation. It has 9 doors and 9 pools (=bassins), and 27 petals like the lotus flower, it symbolizes purity.

• -Hampi is a city in the south of India, it is in the Karnataka region. Hampi is a very old village where you can find many Hindu temples/ruins.

TRADITIONS

• Aloo Gobi is a typical Indian dish, it's vegetarian.

• Dahl : a lentil soup.

• Tandoori chicken : grilled chicken with Indian spices.

• Lassi : is a typical drink made with yoghurt and fruits or spices

• Typical spices : Curry, coriander, mustard seeds, cumin, turmeric (curcuma), saffron, hot chili…

• A bindi is a jewel or a red dot Indian people have on their foreheads. It represents the third eye.

• In general saris are worn for ceremonies.

• Arranged marriages are still celebrated in India, mainly because people want to meet people in the same caste.
