The story of Oliver Twist
Oliver Twist was* an orphan because he didn't have parents. They abandoned him.
He lived in London in the 19th century, in a workhouse.
He escaped from his orphanage and he lived in a world of crime with pickpockets.
He was* desperate yet he was* determined to have a better life.
The orphanage:
It doesn't look like a house. It looks like Hell / a haunted house / prison.
It was dark, strange, and scary.
