On Monday, we worked on 2 extracts of the film about ruby Bridges

you wrote a recap of thye situation and some vocabulary.

Homework for thursday: write 45 differences about the 2 extracts.

Today, we corrected your differences with the help of a slideshow (thanks Mr Hattais).

What are the 5 biggest differences between the two extracts?

1. In the first video, Ruby Bridges had a red dress whereas in the second video she has a white dress.

2. In the first extract, the crowd is behind the little girl whereas in the second extract the crowd is separated from the girl by two large barriers.

3. In the first part, Ruby is nervous and shy (=timide) whereas in the second part, she is more determined and brave/courageous.

4. In the first extract, there is nothing on the school walls whereas in the 2nd part, there are two tags/inscriptions:  « k.k.k » (the Ku Klux Klan, a racist association) and « nigger » (an insult).

5. The second extract is more « violent », the crowd threw a tomato on the school walls. The colour on the wall looks like blood.
